Taking Advantage

The rainy Northwest decided to cooperate with us a little bit. Well, at least for one day. After a week of fairly intense rain, today we got a little break. Rivers came down a little bit, visibility to 3-4 feet, water temp up just enough and still a nice cloud cover overhead. At risk of breaking a fairly impressive streak, it was time to get out of the house and enjoy a little change in scenery.

Made my first swings of the winter season on the Sandy River today. Still a little bit early for good numbers of fish, but it beats the hell out of another day doing, well, anything else. Not another soul in sight and had my choice of water. Walked in, tied up and started swinging. Within 15 minutes, my first tug. Starting to like these odds!

Of course this meant I wouldn't get another tug the rest of the day, which held true. But the weather was great, success was had and it is always nice to get on the board early, when it comes to chasing winter steel.

And in completely unrelated fashion... enjoy another fine selection from our friends over at BOP.
